Post on website blog: In the spring of 2018, my son and I packed up the jeep and drove down the Pacific Coast from Vancouver to California. If you have not done so, please make it a road trip buckelt list item to do this drive. If you are going north to south, take highway 5 down to the Pacific Coast Highway and then do the rest of the drive on the PCH. There are so many amazing small towns and beaches to visit as well as some adorable and quirky spots you have probably never thought to visit. Highlights from my trip include: Olympia National Park, Astoria, Cannon Beach, Arch cape, Devil's Caludron, the Coast Redwoods, Otter Rock Marine Reserve, Thor's Well, Heceta Head, San Francisco, Point Reyes, Monterey, Big Sur (if you stop here, make sure you get a hamburger from Nepenthe, you will not regret it), Morro Bay and Venice Beach. However, my favourite place by far was actually a place I had never visited before, Shelter Cove in California. There is a black beach which essential just means it is covered in tiny black rocks instead of sand. 10/10 would recommend.
